TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - National Police Chief Gen. Tito Karnavian stated that the holding of the 2019 Election would be unique because the election stages of the members of DPR (House of Representative), DPD (Regional Representative Council), DPRD (Legislative Council) coincided with the presidential and vice presidential election. It is considered to trigger the potential for greater conflict at the national and regional levels.
“Our election in 2019 will be unique because the legislative and presidential election will coincide,” General Tito said in remarks at the Monas Silang Square, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, September 18.

The votes of the DPR, DPD, DPRD and the presidential and vice presidential are scheduled for April 17, 2019.
The competition that takes place between the 2019 Election participants will take place in the center and in the regions. Tito said that coincide holding has greater potential for conflict in the 2019 Election.
To safeguard the security of the organizers of the 2019 Election, Tito Karnavian will deploy 300,000 personnel from the National Police and the TNI. The operation will be carried out up to 397 days ahead.
