TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chief of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Central Executive Board (DPP) Yandri Susanto, denied that PAN's senior politician Soetrisno Bachir supported the presidential candidate Joko "Jokowi" Widodo for the 2019 presidential election.
"I don't think Mas Tris [Soetrisno] will support Pak Jokowi, because he conveyed directly that he was very disappointed with Pak Jokowi, and I heard it directly," Yandri said at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta on Thursday, September 13, 2018.
Yandri said that Soetrisno was the first person to suggest DPP PAN not to support Jokowi. "If he suddenly supports Jokowi, it's a bit strange, because he was the one who suggested that PAN should not support Jokowi because he was very disappointed with Pak Jokowi," Yandri said.
According to Yandri, Soetrisno was disappointed with Jokowi because he had never been invited to a cabinet meeting as Chairman of the National Economic and Industrial Committee. Soetrisno suspected that he was alienated because he supported Anies Baswedan in the 2017 Jakarta Regional Head Election and was involved in the 212 rally.
