TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Minister of Home Affairs Tjahjo Kumolo said his ministry would dismiss all civil servants (PNS) involved in corruption. The State Personnel Agency (BKN) noted that there are 2,357 civil servants who were involved in corruption and were imprisoned, but remain active as employees.
"By December, it must be finished, those who are still in office must be immediately dismissed," said Tjahjo on Thursday, September 13, 2018.
Tjahjo said the Ministry would have a discussion with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, as well as the State Civil Apparatus Commission (KASN) to search for details of these corrupt civil servants.
"We also have a MoU, we invite all regional secretaries from all over Indonesia, level I and level II, so that they know that there are [corrupt civil servants] in the area," Tjahjo said.
In BKN's findings, the corrupt civil servants also continue to receive salaries. According to Tjahjo, the government will also stop their salaries. "Yes, [salary] will be stopped, because the law already regulated," Tjahjo said.
KPK chairman Agus Rahardjo said that his team was still calculating the state losses. "Our team is still calculating. We don't know [the amount] yet," Agus said at the State Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday, September 5, 2018.
