#2019GantiPresident Initiator, HTI Spokesman Reported Over Coup

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Legal Aid Institute of Civil Society Alliance for Great Indonesia (LBH Almisbat) officially reported the initiator of #2019GantiPresiden (Change the President in 2019 hashtag) movement Mardani Ali Sera and the spokesman of Islamic organization Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI) Ismail Yusanto to the Police`s Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim).
The police received the report No. LP/B/1113/IX/2018/Bareskrim today, September 12, 2018, submitted by Komarudin, the attorney of LBH Almisbat.
Ismail and Mardani have allegedly conducted a coup as stipulated in Law No. 1/1946 on the criminal code (KUHP), Article 107 of KUHP, and or Article 82 (A2) in conjunction with Article 59 (4C) of Law No. 16/2017 on the mass organization.

In a circulating video, Ismail and Mardani mentioned the issue to change the country’s system in the #2019GantiPresiden movement which Sanggam Indra, another representative of LBH Almisbat, considered as a coup attempt, to replace the state system with a system that HTI long desired and fought for thus far.
“That is an alleged coup, an attempt to change the firm and existing Indonesian system Pancasila and 1945 Constitution with a system that HTI fight for,” said Sanggam at Police's Bareskrim headquarter, Gambir, Central Jakarta Wednesday, September 12.
Sanggam said the #2019GantiPresiden act potentially triggered a public conflict in the grassroots considering massive rejection from various communities emerged in several regions towards the movement. The issue might be worsened by its campaign that sounding identical issue of HTI to change the state system.
Thus, according to Sanggam, the #2019GantiPresiden movement has allegedly been infiltrated by the interests of mass organization HTI, that was earlier diminished by the government for not acknowledging Pancasila as the country ideology and willing to replace it with Khilafah (Islamic sharia) system.
The Legal Aid Institute of Almisbat was a volunteer organization supporting Jokowi in the 2014 Presidential Election and would further back the incumbent candidate in the next year election.
