TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - National Police Chief General Tito Karnavian gave awards to police officers who participated in the 2018 Asian Games, including those as Indonesian athletes.
“Thank you to all police members who made contributions in Asian Games,” said Tito in his speech at Police Headquarter, South Jakarta, Friday, September 7.
Tito said the police participation in the pan-Asia multisports event was such a pride, added by the 90 medals acquisition which was the best achievements in Indonesian history.
As many as 14 police officers listed as Indonesian contingent, competed in several sports namely shooting, football, sepak takraw, shooting (air pistol), and men’s and women’s volley. Tito Karnavian awarded them with a gold pin.
Two police officers from sepak takraw bagged bronze medal for the country, namely Second Police Brigadier Akyko Michele Kapito and Andi Trisandi Saputra S. The police chief promoted them as First Police Brigadier.
Further, Tito Karnavian delivered his appreciation to the police for safeguarding the public order during the 2018 Asian Games. “Also [thanks] to all personnel who well guarded [the event],” he added.
