TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission or KPK created the mapping of assets owned by the former House speaker Setya Novanto for the payment of the state's money lost in the e-KTP corruption case.
“KPK is now examining the assets or funds owned by Setya Novanto in his bank accounts,” said KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah at the KPK Building on Thursday, September 6.
Setya Novanto is sentenced to 15 years in prison and a fine of Rp500 million as a subsidiary of three months in prison. He also has to return state loss valued at US$7.3 million. Setya has returned around Rp5 billion.
Febri said Setya had already paid the installment of US$100,000. "Setya has made several payments; the first was the money deposited before the case handling was complete, the second was the installment payment, and the fine was paid off,” he said.
The judges' verdict stated that Setya is obliged to return the state loss, otherwise, the confiscation of assets will be carried out and it will be auctioned for the state. Setya Novanto has been executed to Sukamiskin Prison, Bandung, West Java on May 4.
