TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Head of Analysis and Climate Information Adi Ripaldi said that tropical cyclone Jebi is currently striking the pacific ocean Northeast of the Philippines which has caused convergence in most areas in the Java Island and caused an equal afternoon rain pour intensity at the Java island.
“The Jebi cyclone disturbance caused masses of air to gather in Java. But it would only affect the next two to four days,” said Adi today. The Jebi cyclone was expected to pass Japan’s western area last night.
Adi suggests that after rain falls in the next few days, Java Island will enter its regular climate and maintains that the current rain Java Island experienced is because we are entering the rainy season.
Based on BMKG’s prediction, Adi explained, the drought season will continue after the Jebi cyclone passes. He predicts that the drought will end either in October or November.
