TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani lauded the country`s athletes in the 2018 Asian Games for making Indonesia proud. She said President Joko `Jokowi` Widodo will grant awards for the medalists.
The minister said that the government has prepared prizes for athletes. “President will deliver the awards, and it will be prepared, the budget is ready,” said Sri Mulyani at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs building, Friday, August 31.

The awards, she added, are expected to encourage all sports unit to accomplish more achievement in the future, as well as to stand in the upcoming matches.
Sri Mulyani considered the achievement earned by Indonesian athletes who succeeded to collect 30 gold medals was magnificent considering it far exceeded the target.

“We are, of course, happy because it is surpassing our expectation and vice president set a target of 16 (gold medals), it is now far from that,” the minister remarked.
Sri Mulyani further hopes such momentum of the 2018 Asian Games could be preserved in a bid to uphold the spirits of the athletes to bring Indonesia into the world's eyes.
