TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - If you were asked what food became the most popular option among 2018 Asian Games participants at the athletes’ village, the answer would definitely be fried rice!
According to Regi Datau, President Director of Gobel Dharma Sarana Karya (GDSK), fried rice has become one of the food options that is requested by Asian Games officials and athletes at the athletes’ village main dining hall in Kemayoran, Jakarta.
GDSK is the catering company that won the tender to provide food for Asian Games athletes in Jakarta and Palembang. And of course, they also provide other options other than fried rice.
“But fried rice is the favorite. There’s always huge demand for it every time we serve fried rice,” said Regi Datau in Jakarta on Monday, August 20. He explained that chicken soto, kuah Bugis, and bakso are also popular dishes.
“Prior to being served we assure that it is not contaminated by substances that are enlisted as a doping enhancer,” said Regi.
GDSK is responsible to provide food for roughly 11,000 Asian Games athletes from 45 countries by providing 49 portions and drinks each day that must vary each day. The foods they provide not only consist of Indonesian food and international food, but also menus that are vegan-friendly.
