TEMPO.CO, Yogyakarta - Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi responded to the incident of Lion Air`s aircraft microphone used by Neno Warisman, on Saturday last week.
“In terms of regulation, such activity is wrong; meaning that the pilot gave an opportunity for the passenger to say something,” he said in Jakarta, Wednesday, August 29.
Budi said that he had directly handled the incident under the Directorate General of Civil Aviation “It has been handled, and we have recommended that Lion Air impose sanctions on the pilot,” he said.
Lion Air management has previously imposed sanctions on cabin crew and pilot for giving permission to Neno to use the microphone or Public Address System (PAS) on the JT-297 flight.
“We have imposed sanctions not to allow to fly or be grounded to pilot and cabin crew who give the permission,” said Lion Air Strategic Corporate Communications Danang Mandala Prihantoro, in a written statement.
Danang said that the microphone should only be used by the flight crew so that what Neno did was a violation of aircraft operating conditions and also violations of company regulations.
