Soekarno-Hatta Airport Skytrain Users Reach 4.1mn Passengers

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The number of passengers at Soekarno-Hatta Airport Skytrain experienced a significant surge. Entering its second-year operation, the Skytrain has served over 4 million passengers.

“Total users of Skytrain reach 4.1 million people,” said Angkasa Pura II corporate commucation vice president Yado Yarismo on Tuesday, August 28.

Yado said the majority of Skytrain users were those who move from one to other terminals as well as from departing stations to airport station and vice versa.

The airport branch communication manager Haerul Anwar said the trend on Skytrain users continuously increased every month. “On a monthly average, the number of passengers amounted to 250,000 to 400,000 people,” he said.

Based on the report data of Skytrain users from January until July 2018, the increase was pretty significant. The number of users in January recorded at 250,355 passengers and that rose to 375,425 passengers in February, while in March (299,862), April (358,213), May (349,578), June (350,517), and July (467,515).

In line with the hike number of Airport Skytrain users, the airport operator Angkasa Pura II (AP II) maintained to develop its service by mobilizing additional trainset of from 4 cars to 12 cars and accelerating the waiting time to 5 minutes from previously 15 minutes.
