TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Former Jakarta deputy and governor Djarot Saiful Hidayat said Basuki Tjahaja Purnama a.k.a. Ahok plans to continue writing after he is released from jail. Ahok`s term will end in either December 2018 or January 2019.

"He plans to keep writing after he is free, and to be a speaker, Djarot said during a launch of a book that Basuki wrote, titled 'Kebijakan Ahok' or Ahok's Policies', in Jakarta, August 16.

Ahok, Djarot said, shares many stories about his time in Brimob Mako Prison, which he spends mostly for writing.

However, when he met Ahok last Friday, the man did not say anything about his plan to publish the Ahok Policy book.

"What I know is that he writes a lot—every day."

Ahok had written 'Kebijakan Ahok' during his time in prison. Djarot said he has not read the book yet, but said from the title he could tell that that it contains Ahok's policies and experiences during his terms as a regional head and a member of the legislative council.
