Inmates Wear Traditional Clothes to Celebrate Independence Day

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Inmates at the Cipinang Class 1 Correctional Facility this morning joined the flag raising ceremony to celebrate the 73rd Independence. Hundreds of them were seen wearing traditional clothes, while others wore their blue prisoner clothes or a white koko clothes.
Not only inmates, firefighters, schools and universities students as well as Cipinang prison staff 1 also joined the assembly.
Cipinang Prison head Andika Dwi Prasetya said that the 15 flag raisers, also known as the Paskibra, in the Independence Day ceremony are all prisoners.

"The theme of this year's ceremony is 'Our Work for the Nation'," he said during the assembly speech, August 17.
Andika said that he would propose additional remissions for prisoners who became Paskibra at the Independence Day ceremony.
"And the inmates who wore traditional clothes will receive gifts," he added.
