TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian online transport service association (PPTJDI) has voiced their dissatisfaction against GoJek and Grab Indonesia regarding both company’s latest adjusted average tariff following a lengthy conflict between the company and its partners or drivers.
“The one that was announced has yet met our demands,” said PPTJDI Chairman Igun Wicaksono on Wednesday, August 15.
The conflict between the app company and its drivers sparked from the driver’s disappointments against the companies’ partnership system. One of it is the basic passenger fare of Rp1,600 per kilometer that the association says is a burden towards drivers welfare. The association demanded the company to increase its basic tariff to Rp3,000 per kilometer to adjust to the ever increasing living costs.
Responding to the demadns, Grab Indonesia claims that as of May 2018, the company has increased the average tariff per kilometer exceeding Rp2,000. Go-Jek also agreed and stated that the average close distance tariff varies from Rp2,200 and Rp3,000.
However, Igun persisted that drivers had demanded the change of basic tariff and not the average tariff as GoJek and Grab Indonesia mentioned recently.
