TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A selfie photo or a photo taken by someone will make a different look compared to when we take a look at our face in the mirror. Want to know the causes?

1. Different focus

The face on the photo looks different from what we imagine because it is not perfectly symmetrical. In addition, the flaws on your face, such as stain or scar, will not be covered in the photo. While in the mirror, we tend to ignore these flaws and focus on the parts of the face that we like or are considered more attractive.

2. Mirror is more familiar

We naturally look at our face through the mirror rather than in the photo. It unconsciously makes us prefer the face that we often see. The reason, something that happens repeatedly can make it more comfortable.

Seeing your own appearance in the mirror creates a strong and familiar impression. This intimacy produces a sense of liking and unconsciously, we set the perception for the appearance of the face.

3. Photo-taking technique

The difference in camera lenses will cause a different result in the photo. If you want your face to look thin or slim, you can choose a longer lens because the shorter the lens, the result will make the face look wider.
