TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A member of the South Bekasi Sector Police, Bripka Aris Triyogo, was injured in a brawl due to being stabbed using a bottle shard.

Bekasi City Metro Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Police Indarto said the perpetrator was drunk when attacking.

“According to police member in the field, the two groups were drunk. And the one who stabbed the police member was also drunk,” Indarto said in the Metro Jaya Regional Police, South Jakarta, Monday, August 13.

The incident took place at the NAV Cafe, Jalan KH Noer Ali, Kalimalang, West Bekasi on Sunday, 12 August at 12:30 pm.

Initially, Aris was about to break up the brawl between the two groups. However, the perpetrator named Sukirman Rahwarin (28) stabbed Aris with a bottle shard. When processing the crime scene, the police found the evidence of a beer-bottle shard.

“Coincidentally my member also dressed in plainclothes so maybe both groups thought he is the member (of the brawl),” said Indarto.

The police arrested Sukirman at his home on Sunday afternoon. Sukirman is registered to live at Jalan Kenanga Raya 2, No. 2, Jakasampurna, West Bekasi.
