TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The skybridge construction in Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, was stopped because the generator ran out of diesel. The machine is used to supply electricity to land drill machine and electric welding to install fences.
“The machine stopped because the diesel fuel ran out since 10:30 am,” said one of the workers who was resting. The skybridge construction has been started since August 3. It is targeted for completion on October 15.
The workers were assigned to make a bridge pole foundation hole. Currently, the team has made four square-hole measuring 1,5x1,5 meters. The hole has a depth of 50 centimeters. “The hole is for the bridge pole steel holder,” he said.
Gandi, a PT Wahana Karya welder, said that he could not return to work because the electric welding was off. In fact, the contractor requested the fence to be finished today. “Wait for the diesel fuel. But, don’t know when it will come. We are all still waiting. It delays the work,” he said.
Since Sunday morning, the skybridge fence was installed about 50 meters from the target of 100 meters. The skybridge project supervisor did not want to provide information.
