Chinese Citizen Arrested for Using Fake Passport

TEMPO.CO, Tangerang - An immigration officer at Soekarno-Hatta airport arrested a Chinese citizen for using a fake passport.

“He arrived in Indonesia using Mexican passport,” said the Immigration class I Chief of the airport Enang Supriyadi Syamsi, Saturday, August 11.

The man with the initials LJC (34) arrived at Soekarno-Hatta airport on early Friday, August 10, at 01:30 local times boarding Xianmen Air.

Enang explained the Chinese citizen used a Mexican passport which resembled the genuine one. However, the officer was able to recognize it.

LCJ admitted bringing a fake passport which he purchased in China. “He buys it via online shop for 300 yuan,” he added.

According to Enang, many foreign citizens violated the immigration rule entering Indonesia for certain purposes, such as for a living and work.

The immigration office of Soekarno-Hatta airport had reported the fake passport case to Chinese Embassy in Indonesia. “We refused him and immediately sent him back to his country,” Enang said.
