TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia Fair or PRI, an event of national various products exhibition that becomes an annual event from Indonesia International Graha events, presents a new activity, which is the Coffee Area. It is the collaboration results with the Exporters and Indonesian Coffee Industry Association or AEKI. PRI will be held on 27 September to 8 October at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition or ICE BSD South Tangerang.
PT Indonesia International Expo President Director Ryan Adrian said Indonesia is one of the largest coffee producing countries in the world, which has great potential but also has important business challenges to be understood and anticipated together. Collaborating with AEKI, it is the first time for PRI to present a forum for the coffee beans businessmen in the country.
“This initiative aims to develop Indonesia’s local coffee industry with more variety of coffee to hundreds of thousands of PRI 2018 visitors,” Ryan said in Jakarta, August 8.
Coffee Area is one of the concepts of the PRI 2018 exhibition, presenting as many as 30 coffee exhibitors who are the members of AEKI. Among them are Hayasa Wangsa, Meepago Dogiyai Coffee, Warung Rasional, Ulusalu Coffee, Ulungwae Coffee, Toro Coffee Roastery, Kojii Coffe Specialty Store, Startoga Coffee, The Buncitman, Symphony Coffee, Loving Coffee Karo, and others.
AEKI management Mulyanto said that it had the vision to unite businessmen in the coffee industry, to grow together and develop the potentials and commodities.
“Our presence at PRI 2018 is one concrete step that proves our commitment to be able to embrace various levels of society, to find out more about the local coffee industry,” Mulyanto said.
An exhibitor of Koji Coffee owner Adrian Zmith said PRI is an event that can introduce coffee machines to visitors and they can try it directly. “Now, we focus on those who are interested in trying the coffee machines, many of them that sell coffee beans. After they buy the coffee beans, they can try it on our machines,” Adrian said.
Occupying the top five position as the largest coffee producing country in the world in the 2016-2017 growing season, Indonesia has a very valuable coffee commodity potential in line with domestic coffee production which increases up to 5 percent annually. Indonesia also has the challenge to keep developing to be a coffee exporter, ranging from developing the quality of plants to deal with global warming, expanding the distribution of production areas, to creating sustainable technologies for coffee cultivation.
