Lombok Quake Fundraising, Elek Yo Band to Perform Tonight

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Elek Yo Band, the music group consisting of ministers in President Jokowi`s cabinet, will perform in the fundraising event after Lombok earthquake at Cilandak Town Square (Citos), Jakarta, Thursday evening, August 9. The concert is themed Humanity for Lombok.

Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi, one of the group member, confirmed the plan. He said the ministers will present surprises during their performance. “Let’s see later,” he told Tempo today, August 9.

The band members are Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi and Finance Minister Sri Mulyani as vocalists, Transportation Minister as the guitarist, Manpower Minister Hanif Dhakiri as guitarist-cum-vocalist, and Public Works and Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono as a drummer.

In addition, Presidential Chief of Staff Teten Masduki as a vocalist, Head of Economy Creative Agency (Bekraf) Triawan Munaf as a keyboarder, and husband of Retno Marsudi, Agus Marsudi, also listed as one of the members.

Elek Yo Band will perform on stage at 19:48 until 19:54 local time. Other than Elek Yo Band, many musicians will also perform at Citos, among others are Tompi, Glenn Fredly, and Andien Aisyah. 

As many as 37 artists will present in the charity concert for victims of the Lombok earthquake in Bali and Lombok. The Humanity for Lombok event takes place tonight, August 9 starting 18:00 until 22:00.
