Jokowi to Talks on VP Candidate at Plataran Menteng

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko `Jokowi` Widodo arrived at a restaurant Plataran Menteng, Central Jakarta, Thursday, August 9 at 17:07.

PDIP chair Megawati Soekarnoputri has arrived earlier. Wearing a white shirt and black pant, Jokowi immediately enters the restaurant as the political party elites have waited for him.

The meeting was planned to finalize the vice presidential candidate and the technical issue of the registration to the General Election Commission (KPU).

Jokowi previously said the announcement of his running mate will take place today or tomorrow, August 10. “I’ll announce it later. Not now. Perhaps this afternoon or tomorrow,” said the president on Thursday, August 9.

Jokowi affirms he will register himself as a presidential candidate and his running mate to KPU on Friday, August 10, before Friday prayer.
