Asian Para Games Committee, AP II Conduct Wheelchair Simulation

TEMPO.CO, Tangerang - State airport operator Angkasa Pura II (AP II) and Indonesia Asian Para Games Organizing Committee (INAPGOC) conducted a final stage simulation for the path of arrival and departure of the 18th Asian Para Games athlete and officials who use wheelchairs at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
“We use real wheelchair in this simulation,” said Erwin Revianto, Terminal 2 Senior Manager at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tuesday, August 7.
According to Erwin, the previous simulation did not use the wheelchair. “Angkasa Pura II and all officials at Soekarno-Hatta Airport are ready to support the 2018 Asian Para Games in October,” he said.
The simulation is conducted at Terminal 2F’s arrival and departure route, 30 wheelchairs are used in the simulation. For the path of arrival, the simulation starts from when the athletes and the officials get off the plane, then go to the immigration and Customs and Excise counter.
INAPGOC chief Raja Sapta Oktohari said that the arrival paths of athletes, officials, and international media are at Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3.
“The wheelchair simulation is very important as the main and first entry point for all athletes who will compete in this quadrennial event,” he said.
As the host of the 18th Asian Para Games, Raja Sapta continued, Indonesia must show the readiness of the preparation and succeed all process at Soekarno-Hatta Airport until the destinations.
