4 Ways to Process Sweet Potato for Your Diet

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Sweet potato is an alternative food for diet as it contains carbohydrate yet low calories. Because of its dietary fibres, sweet potato will make your stomach full longer, thus your appetite will be maintained.

In addition to carbohydrate, sweet potatoes rich in Vitamin A, Vitamin B6, Vitamin C, iron, calcium, protein, and others useful material for your body. The following are four ways to process sweet potatoes without ruining your diet.

1. Boiled

The easiest way to process sweet potato is by boiling it until it is soft. Sweet potatoes can be an alternative to rice for breakfast or pre-dawn meal (suhoor) for those willing to fasting.

2. Roasted

You can roast sweet potatoes for 10 to 20 minutes in 220 degrees Celcius. The roasted version can be your second opinion if you are bored to munch boiled sweet potatoes.

3. Steamed

Other than boiling sweet potatoes, you can also steam it in pieces. Steamed sweet potato is one of the best options to replace oily snacks which detrimental to your body.

4. Make it crisp

Crispy sweet potatoes, even though using oil to fry it, is better than other fries. However, its benefit will not as optimal as those three ways above.
