3 Steps to Get Rid of Bees from Home

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Dealing with a single bee is a rather easy task, but removing a whole colony can be a very complicated and potentially dangerous process.

So what should you do if you see beehives in or around your home? Here are three steps to take:

1. Moving the nest

The beehive often hangs on trees planted around the house. If you are worried and afraid of being stung or feel disturbed, you can move it. Cut the tree trunk that becomes the place of the beehive. Saw it carefully, and then put it in the sack. After that, keep it away from your home.

2. Make a bee trap

Use the bee trap that is usually made of wire, or use a wire mesh and form it like a cone. Then, remove the top of the cone with a small diameter. Then, attach the larger surface of the cone to the entrance of the beehive. This method will make the bees come out, but cannot return to its hive. With this, the bees will leave its hive. This method takes about 2 months.

3. Soap and water

The solution of liquid soap and water with a ratio of 1: 4 will make the wax’s protective surface of the hive easily detached, at the same time, it kills the bees. Spray the solution into the hive and do not forget to use the body armor.
