2018 Asian Games : 3 Things Jakarta will Adopt from Moscow
4 August 2018 17:58 WIB
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Sandiaga Uno had just completed his three-day work visit to Moscow on Friday, August 3. During the work visit, Sandiaga said that he is set to adopt three elements of traffic management applied by Russia during the 2018 World cup for the upcoming 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta.
The following are the three notable elements set to be adopted by the Jakarta Administration:
1. One traffic command control
"A senior city official will be able to make decisions to engineer the traffic through a one command control," said Sandiaga at City Hall on August 4, 2018.
The Deputy Governor says that this strategy helped Moscow create a better traffic management for the World Cup event. Sandiaga said that the time needed to travel from the city of Moscow to the airport during the football event only took 1 to 1.5 hours, but the current travel time has returned to the regular 3 to 4 hours. "The traffic jam in Moscow is incredible," Sandiaga said.
2. Thousands of CCTV
Sandiaga explained that he will adopt Moscow's use of 160 thousands of CCTV units that are installed throughout the city. The CCTVs will help the city’s intelligent transport system (ITS) that helps feed Moscow's traffic management center (TMC) to better disperse traffic.
3. Traditional walkie-talkies
Lastly, Sandiaga said that he will equip authorities with the traditional telecommunication management system walkie-talkie. The upcoming Asian Games will see many people gathering in a single location that can cause the communication system to fail, especially 3G and 4G networks.
"That was what Moscow reminded, to use a network that is separate from what other companies utilize," said Jakarta Deputy Governor Sandiaga Uno.
