TEMPO.CO, San Francisco - The Playstation 4 or PS4 video game console has achieved high-number sales. PS4 developer, Sony Computer Entertainment announced in its latest income report that 3,2 million consoles were sold in the period between April 1 and June 30, 2018.

Sony noted the total sales of 82 million units of the PS4 console since its launch five years ago.

As many as 3.2 million of PS4 consoles sent by Sony during the quarter showed a slight decline from the same period last year when Sony sent 3.3 million. That number increased from 79 million units listed in the previous period’s sales report.

Whatever the cases, PS4 sales is expected to decline from year to year. Previously, Sony had sent 19 million PS4 consoles during the fiscal year.

For the following year, Sony only estimated to sell 17 million consoles. Recently, as reported by Gamespot, Sony said the PS4 has entered the end of its life cycle.

Even so, the sales of 80 million units have been amazing. Sony's video game division, Game and Network Services, said the sales increased 36 percent.

Sony said the achievement has something to do with the sales of a powerful PS4 game, the God of War. It was released in April and became the fastest-selling PS4 game.
