Dutch Police Arrest Rapist of Indonesian Female College Student

TEMPO.CO, Rotterdam - Dutch police have arrested an 18-year-old boy related to the rape of a female Indonesian college student, which took place in Herman Bavinckstraat, Rotterdam last week.
“Everyone is very excited to arrest the perpetrator immediately,” said Albert Jansen, head of the investigation team, as quoted by NLtimes media, Wednesday, July 25. “We hope it can help the victim in the healing process even though it can not reduce her suffering”.
Rotterdam police arrested a rape suspect on Tuesday evening, July 24, local time and announced it the next day.
The victim, whose identity is concealed, was attacked by the perpetrator while locking her bike in front of her house on the Herman Bavinckstraat Street, Rotterdam at around 5:30 am on Saturday, July 21.
The victim had just cycled from the Rotterdam Central area at the time of the incident. Dutchnews reported the perpetrator reportedly attacked the victim with ferocity causing serious injury. The victim, 21 years old, was rushed to the hospital by a neighbor who later learned of the incident.
Earlier, Dutch police said the perpetrator used a hoodie jacket based on CCTV footage and the eyewitness around the location. “The police call this arrest as a major step in the ongoing investigation,” NLtimes reported.
