TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono plans to build rest areas in toll road that are opened specifically during holiday period such as the Eid`s homecoming and reverse flow.

“We plan on adding the rest area, maybe it does not have to be permanent,” said Minister Basuki in a meeting with the House's Commission V, Jakarta, Tuesday, July 24.

According to Basuki, the non-permanent rest areas are only open for the certain period, such as during long holiday or Eid holiday. It is considered to be helpful to overcome the problem related to the lack of adequate rest areas on the toll road, both during the homecoming and reverse flow.

Previously, President Joko Widodo or Jokowi wanted the local products and products of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to dominate the rest area along the toll road.

Earlier, three months after issuance of a regulation requiring a toll road business entity to allocate 20-30 percent of rest area to micro, small and cooperative units, President Jokowi invited small business actors to take the opportunity.
