TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Gerindra Party chairman Prabowo Subianto arrived at the residence of Democrat Party chair Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) in Kuningan, South Jakarta, Tuesday, July 24, at around 19:13 local times.
SBY greeted Prabowo and both shook each other's hand. They made a pose in front of the reporters before entering the house. “We’ll have a meeting first, we’ll later explain it,” said SBY today, July 24.
Before the door, many elite members of Democrat Party lined up including the party secretary-general Hinca Panjaitan, deputy chairman Syarif Hasan, central board (DPP) head Ferdinand Hutahaean, and two sons of SBY, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono and Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono.
Accompanying Prabowo were Gerindra Party secretary-general Ahmad Muzani, deputy chairmen Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, Ferry Juliantono, Edhie Prabowo, and Sugiono, among others.
Prabowo shook hand with Democrat Party’s executive members while SBY welcomed his guests from Gerindra Party. They entered the house and held a closed meeting.
“Please wait, the meeting may take a long time because this is serious talks, perhaps for around an hour or two. Enjoy!” said Hinca, followed the entourage entering the house.
SBY and Prabowo were previously scheduled to meet on July 18 but postponed due to SBY's condition. The meeting would discuss the possible coalition between Democratic and Gerindra Party. Both party’s leaders had earlier met and listed the coalition’s agreement to be talked in the meeting today.
