TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - In the second-week trial of the odd-even policy expansion, the Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya claimed the congestion decreased 16 percent and the speed of the vehicle also increased 12.14 percent.
“The volume of vehicles in the inner and outer city toll roads decreased 26 percent,” said Head of Law Enforcement Sub Directorate of PMJ Traffic Directorate Adjunct Commissioner Budiyanto on Sunday, July 22.
Besides decreasing the vehicles density, based on Jakarta Transportation Agency data presented by Budiyanto, people who use public transportation has increased. As royal trans users increased 11.5 percent, PPD increased 1.4 percent, and Transjakarta increased 9.86 percent.
Another impact of the odd-even policy, said Budiyanto, succeeded in reducing CO2 emissions by 52,000 tons per day. It is one of Jakarta Environment Agency’s targets in welcoming the 2018 Asian Games.
