TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Actor and politician Lucky Hakim finally decided to resign from the National Mandate Party (PAN). He said he is no longer comfortable being part of the party that brought him to the House of Representatives in the 2014 legislator elections.
Lucky is a legislator from the electoral district of West Java VI who won 57,800 votes. His fellow PAN colleague, Intan Fitriana Fauzi, got some 20,000 votes.
Lucky said Intan accused him of stealing votes to win in the area. "How could I have possibly done that?"
The accusation sparked further conflicts with PAN, as the party sued him to the Constitutional Court. Lucky also reported PAN to the Metro Jaya Police with allegations of defamation.
The defamation charges were then criticized by the party, saying that Lucky had "brought internal matters outside". PAN also requested Lucky to retract the report.
Lucky said he was also sued at the Party Court by Intan, who claimed to have an agreement on the division of the term of office in the House with him.
The Party Court, Lucky said, could not prove there was such letter, year after year.
Then, on a daily meeting on January 31, which he did not attend, the party gave him a PAW verdict. Lucky found out about the PAW decision from his staff and then a high-ranking PAN officer informed him later on.
"But I never received a letter of the PAW verdict," Lucky said.
Lucky Hakim quit from PAN and became a candidate of the Nasdem Party. PAN Chairman Zulkifli Hasan said Lucky received a transfer from Nasdem amounting Rp5 billion, which both Lucky and Nasdem denied.
