TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe national flag carrier Garuda Indonesia has again scored a remarkable achievement by being named the 2018 World`s Best Cabin Crew for the five consecutive years since 2014 by the Skytrax, a United Kingdom-based consultancy which runs an airline and airport review and ranking site.

The Best Airline Cabin Crew awards recognize the highest all-round performance of cabin staff, for hard service in terms of techniques, efficiency, attention etc, and soft service characteristics in terms of staff enthusiasm, attitude, friendliness and hospitality.

Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted presented the award to Garuda Indonesia President Director Pahala N. Mansury at the Skytrax World Airline Awards 2018 in London, along with the Farnborough International Airshow 2018 in England, on Tuesday.

"The appreciation certainly has its own meaning for us in the midst of various operational performance challenges faced by the company, and thus, Garuda will prove its commitment by continuously improving the quality standard of the best-recognized cabin crew service," Pahala said in a written statement received on Tuesday.

Pahala said the award is a matter of pride because Garuda Indonesia is the only world airline to have successfully maintained "The World`s Best Cabin Crew" for five consecutive years.

According to him, this award is a clear proof of the ongoing commitment and hard work of Garuda Indonesia employees, especially the cabin crew members who have presented the best services to all service users of Garuda.

"This award is also a challenge for us all in Garuda Indonesia in the future to continue to provide the best Indonesian hospitality service to the world," he said.

According to him, the determination of Garuda Indonesia as "The World`s Best Cabin Crew 2018" is based on assessment through customer satisfaction survey conducted by Skytrax globally by involving more than 18 million passengers.

The survey was conducted on more than 245 international airlines, and held annually by measuring 41 major aspects related to products and services provided by airlines.

In the meantime, Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted said the "World`s Best Cabin Crew" award is one of the most prestigious honors in the world of aviation.

"Garuda Indonesia has proven a consistent form of giving perfection in service to all passengers," said Edward.

In addition to grabbing "World`s Best Cabin Crew" for the fifth time, through the Skytrax awards, Garuda Indonesia also maintained its performance as Top 10 World`s Best Airline.
