KPK Seizes Project Documents of PLTU Riau in Five Locations

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) seized documents and e-documents during its probe to several places related to bribery case of the steam-fueled power plant (PLTU) I in Riau province which involved the leader of the House`s Energy Commission Eni Saragih.
“We have seized some documents, finance and electronic files, related to the plant in Riau,” said KPK spokesperson Febri Diansyah on Sunday, July 15.
KPK named two suspects Eni Saragih and APAC Group chairman Johannes Budisutrisno Kotjo. Eni was charged for allegedly received a bribe of Rp500 million from Kotjo to ease the ratification on PLTU Riau I construction project.
The anti-graft body estimated the bribe money was a 2.5 percent commitment fee of the project fee. The total money Eni had received was Rp4.8 billion.
Febri said KPK on Sunday investigated five locations of bribery places of the 35,000 megawatt plants project. The five locations were the residence of PLN president director Sofyan Basir, Eni Saragih’s residence, Kotjo’s residence, apartment, and offices.
KPK officers were seen bringing four card boxes and three suitcases after the probe to find pieces of evidence.
The case was started from KPK’s sting operation towards thirteen people on Friday, July 13 in several places in Jakarta. Eni Saragih was arrested in the residence of Social Minister Idrus Marham. During the operation, the anti-corruption agency confiscated Rp500 million and its receipt.
