TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) noted that the consumption of premium fuel during the 2018 Eid Day increased by an average of 23 percent compared to normal conditions or normal days.
Head of Communications Bureau, Public Information Services and Cooperation (KLIK) of the Ministry of ESDM Agung Pribadi, in a release in Jakarta on Wednesday, July 11, said that the premium fuel consumption increase is above the average of all gasoline types in 2018 Eid Day, increased 12 percent compared to normal days.
According to Agung, the peak of premium fuel consumption during the 2018 Eid Day occurred on D-1 or June 14, which reached 41,822 kiloliters.
“The gasoline consumption increase was due to the high rate of motor vehicles during the Eid homecoming flow and reverse flow,” he said.
Agung said that it is the duty of the government to ensure the provision of fuel throughout the country, including the type so that people can choose the appropriate fuel needs.
The momentum of Eid Day, he said, became one of the benchmarks for the provision of fuel services in Indonesia, because in that period the consumption increased.
To increase the certainty of Premium fuel supply, according to him, since June, the government has added a public refueling station (SPBU) in Java, which sold Premium, totaling 571 units, bringing the total to 2,090 SPBU.
Agung said the government guarantee to meet the fuel needs of the community does not stop during Eid Day or certain moments only.
After the Eid Day period ended, he said, the government evaluated the provision of fuel, especially Premium fuel to fit the needs of the community.
“It is our duty to provide maximum public services, but the government will evaluate the provision of fuel, especially Premium fuel, which is in line with the needs of the community,” Agung said.
