Densus 88 Arrests Suspected Terrorist in Bendungan Hilir

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The anti-terrorism squad Densus 88 arrested a suspected terrorist in Bendungan Hilir, Central Jakarta, Sunday, July 8. The arrest was at Bendungan Hilir area followed by the police search at his residence at Jl. Sukamulya 7, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

However, Kemayoran Resort Police said it had yet acknowledged the number of the suspected terrorists whom police arrested.

“Yes, he is probed in Benhil yesterday, if I’m not mistaken, but the search is on today at his residence at Kemayoran. I didn’t update on the number,” Saiful confirmed to the media on Monday, July 9.

The suspected terrorist, Saiful said, was a security officer in a water company. During the search, children and wife of the suspected terrorists were examined. The police had installed a police line on the house.

Densus 88 team found suspicious objects such as mortars stored in the suspected terrorist residence. "A lot of evidence, including mortars," Saiful added.
