TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Vice President Jusuf Kalla said the 2018 Asian Games still needed plenty of sponsors. The government, he said, could not work alone and rely on the state budget only.

The vice president invites corporates to take part in supporting the games, which he said would be rewarded in return.

"Sponsor companies will be known by four billion people in this Asian Games. What they contribute will not only benefit INASGOC, but also supported by viewers from all over the world—especially Asia," Kalla said here on Friday, July 6.

INASGOC chairman Erick Thohir said there were currently 43 sponsorship partners for the sports event. The help received is not only in funding, but also 'value in kind' (VIK). The VIK sponsorships' value is now Rp869 billion, taking forms in, among others, WiFi network, Transjakarta bus tickets, and insurances.

Today, INASGOC received favors from 22 state and private companies, with a sponsorship worth of Rp780 billion in total. "The amount is 160 percent above our target," he said.

Three of the 22 sponsorship partners for the 2018 Asian Games are Mastercard, Tanoto Foundation, and Aice. Supporting partners include Adhi Karya, Waskita Karya, Wijaya Karya, BTN, PGN, Jiwasraya, Martha Tilaar, Coca Cola Distribution Indonesia, and others.
