Police Urge Public to Report on Money Politics During Election

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Metro Jaya Police Spokesman Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono called on the public to immediately report to the police if they find any questionable practices regarding money politics in the wake of the 2018 simultaneous regional head elections (Pilkada).
“You may file a police report if you witness any violations,” said Argo on Tuesday, June 26.
The regional head election is set to be held in numerous Indonesian regions tomorrow on Wednesday, June 27.

Meanwhile, the Metro Jaya police will oversee the elections at Bekasi, Depok, and Tangerang that consist of 14,609 polling stations (TPS).
To assist the election process, police plans to mobilize 41,381 of its joint personnel from the Metro Jaya Police, police resorts, Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI), and community security guards. “We have prepared personnel that was already briefed this morning,” Argo explained.
Argo reminded members of the public to be persistent against money politics during the 2018 regional elections (Pilkada) and advised people to vote based on their own individual decisions. He also assured that the police will maintain its neutrality.
