TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of Public Relations Jakarta Police Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono said his party supports the judge of the South Jakarta District Court who sentenced to death, the terrorist Aman Abdurrahman. After the verdict, said Argo, the police remain wary of threats from other terrorists.
“The judge's consideration like that, we support, but we are still wary of terrorist threats,” said Argo at the Bung Karno Stadium in Central Jakarta on Saturday, June 23.
According to Argo, the police continue to communicate with the National Agency for Combating Terrorism (BNPT) and local residents through the representatives of neighborhood associations to be wary of terrorist threats.
The calculation by the police was proven. West Java Regional Police shot dead a suspected terrorist with initials M, in the Pamanukan flyover, Subang Regency, on Friday, June 22.
Police also shot to death US, 28 years old, and AZW alias MRS 31 years old, the suspected terrorist member of JAD, who was riding his motorcycle on Jalan Tole Iskandar, Depok City, Saturday, June 23.
BNPT Prevention Director Brigadier General Hamli said that individually, BNPT communication with police is well. According to Hamli, the supervision of terrorist threats is done according to their respective duties and functions (tupoksi) respectively.
In the prevention section, for example, there are three monitoring steps. First, performing the de-radicalization of terrorist prisoners and former inmates and their families.
Second, performing the counter radicalization and counter-narrative. Counter-radicalization is an effort to provide moderate understanding to the community, such as students and college students.
Its delivery can be through online-based media or directly (offline). According to Hamli, the content of counter radicalization and terrorists are usually disseminated through BNPT social media.
The implementation of counter-radicalization, Hamli continued, done by making some short video and documentary film. While counter-narrative is exactly like counter-radicalization, but its delivery through writing.
“In order to understand religion properly and to provide an understanding of national insight,” Hamli said when contacted by Tempo today.
