TEMPO.CO, Ternate - The National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) team of Ternate, North Maluku, together with Moya residents, have managed to find a college student of STIKIP Ternate, Rahmi Kadis (21), who went missing two days ago in Mount Gamalama.
“The victim was found at the peak of Mount Gamalama in a weak condition,” Head of Basarnas Ternate Mustari said Thursday, June 21.
Currently, Rahmi is receiving medical treatment in a public hospital. She was lost while trekking with eight others on Mount Gamalama.
According to Mustari, Rahmi was found by Moya residents at 06:35 local time in Post 5, in a conscious state and suffered a hypothermia. At that time, a joint team of SAR immediately conducted a maintenance and evacuation to the Moya post, at around 12:30.
To search the victim, the team, which include TNI's SAR team, was divided into three groups and they were deployed to the top of Mount Gamalama to search. On Thursday, June 21, the victim was found.
Basarnas Ternate appreciated all parties, including the residents of Moya Village, who went up to Mount Gamalama since last night to conduct a search.
