TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned port operator Pelabuhan Indonesia III (Pelindo III) Tenau, Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara spokesperson Willis Aji stated the company started the return flow of 2018 Eid`s homecoming four days after Eid day.

“It is estimated that the return flow in Tenau Port will start on Tuesday, June 19, and state-owned ship operator Pelni will provide the ships,” said Willis Aji in Kupang via a phone call today.

As of Day-1 of Eid, he explained, the company recorded passengers departed from Tenau Port at 11,108 people, while 9,033 passengers had arrived, thus the total was 20,051 passengers.

The figure increased compared to Eid period in 2017 at 10,127 and 8,405 passengers who departed from and arrived at Tenau Port respectively.

According to Willis, the last year’s service for travelers during Eid’s homecoming season had gone smoothly and orderly with the support of the joint personnel of National Military (TNI) and National Police at Eid posts.

Willis stated the Tenau Port Authority (KSOP) and many stakeholders had coordinated the Eid posts which will last until D+15 of Eid day. “The posts were opened since Eid D-15 to secure the Eid’s homecoming and return flow this year,” he said.
