Prabowo, SBY to Meet Before Regional Election

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of the Great Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra) election winning team Sandiaga Uno, said that Gerindra chairman Prabowo Subianto is set to meet with Democrat Party chairman Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) before the Regional Election 2018. Sandiaga said that the plan was confirmed following his meeting with SBY earlier today. "It was discussed. We will schedule [the meeting] soon," said Sandiaga.

Previously, Andre Rosiade, a member of Gerindra's communication division, said that the meeting will discuss potential to establish a coalition in the upcoming presidential election.

Sandiaga added that the communication between the two parties has intensified. It often includes SBY's son and party official Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono. 

"We did not specifically talk about politics, but both parties have the same perspective that in the future we will synergize," Sandiaga said.
