Eid Homecoming Vehicle Road Worthiness Inspected Thoroughly

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Transportation Agency together with the Greater Jakarta Transportation Body (BPTJ) has conducted pre-ramp and ramp checks on 1,900 buses that are used for the Eid homecoming since May 15 to June 10.
“There are a total of 789 units considered to be fit for travel and 1,111 that are not during the operation,” said Jakarta’s transportation agency deputy head Sigit Wijatmoko on Monday, June 11.
The pre-ramp checks were conducted on May 15 to June 7, which found 616 public vehicles that are not fit to run, meanwhile there 475 vehicles that were considered to be non-road worthy.
The safety inspection was then followed by a ramp checks that were split into two occasions in June 7-June 10 where 121 vehicles were considered to be road-worthy and 99 units that were not.
The second period saw an increase of vehicles that were inspected and found 495 vehicles to be road worthy and 314 that are not.
According to the head of Kalideres terminal Revi Zulkarnaen, his team routinely conducts ramp checks on vehicles that will be used to transport people for the Eid homecoming each day. “So far, the buses that depart from Kalideres terminal are all road worthy,” he said.
