Jokowi Still Arranges Time to Meet Amien Rais

TEMPO.CO, Bogor - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi stated the possibility to meet the National Mandate Party (PAN) honorary chairman Amien Rais remained open. He was currently arranging the right time.

“We are still managing the time,” said Jokowi in Bogor Presidential Palace, on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, when asked about the meeting plan with Amien Rais.

The meeting plan between Jokowi and Amien Rais was brought up since last month when Amien claimed Jokowi’s staff approached and asked him to directly meet the president two months ago.

Earlier, Amien stated that he was ready to have a session at his residence in Yogyakarta because he was worried Indonesia might split because of negative issues between the two figures.

Amien also said they could share thoughts should the meeting take place at his house. Besides, he commonly met anyone there. “Pak Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Bu Ani had visited my home,” he recalled.

Amien Rais said the meeting with President Jokowi should not need a long time. Thus, according to him, 20 minutes would be enough.
