TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Biblion Yamaha MotoX Racing’s Galang Hendra Pratama won his first race at Brno Circuit, Czech Republic, in the World Supersport 300 (WSSP300) on June 10.

During the race, despite dropping one position after turn one, Galang was able to take back first position and maintained his position until the end of the race and managed to stretch 4.739 second gap from the second place rider Walid Khan, which was ended early due to a red flag.

“I will do my best and focus on the next race in Misano,” said Galang Hendra in a press release on Monday, June 11. Galang is currently ranked 8th in the final championship standings of the WorldSSP300.

Based on the race statistics, Galang Hendra’s Yamaha YZF R3 was actually lacking in top speed compared to the bikes used by competitors; Kawasaki Ninja 400 and KTM RC390. Galang only managed to record a 181.8 km/h top speed at the end of Brno’s straight, which is far slower than the Ninja 400 ridden by Loureiro (DS Junior Team) that recorded a top speed of 194.9 km/h.

President Director of Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing (YIMM) Minoru Morimoto was satisfied by the result given that the Yamaha R3 ridden by Galang Hendra was inferior compared to other competitors in previous races. “It’s an astonishing result,” said Morimoto.
