7 Percent Increase in Fuel Consumption during Eid Homecoming

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Pertamina Vice President Communication Manager Adiatma Sardjito said that fuel consumption increased 7 percent during the 2018 homecoming peak season on June 9, based on that percentage, 24 percent was for Pertamax fuel.

“The distribution of Pertamax have reached 22.1 million liters up to Saturday. The normal distribution in average is 17.8 million liters,” said Adiatma on Sunday, June 10.

Meanwhile, Adiatma said that the consumption of Dex had also increased by 6 percetn to 773,000 compared to a regular day that only uses 729,000. The rising consumption of Pertamax and Dex is a clear sign that consumers are starting to depend on high-quality fuel.

Not only motorized vehicle fuel, Adiatma explained that the company saw an increase of consumption for airplane fuel avtur, which increased by 5 percent from the regular average of 16.5 million liters to 17.4 million liters.

Adiatma also stated that daily household sector saw the rise of LPG from 21 thousand metric tons (MT) to 25.8 thousand MT, which is a 23 percent. “The supply of LPG is safe up to 17 days ahead,” said Adiatma. He said that the public can call Pertamina’s call center at 1500 000 whenever they need information regarding fuel.
