TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Traffic Police Chief Insp. Gen. Royke Lumowa predicted that during the Eid`s homecoming, 99,000 vehicles pack Cikarang Main toll gate on Friday to Saturday morning, June 9.
"We predicted that since today until tomorrow morning, there will be 99,000 vehicles in the North Cikarang toll gate,” said Royke on Friday, June 8.
According to Royke, there is an increase in vehicle volume in the Cikampek toll road on Friday. On regular day, the number of vehicles from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. is approximately 25,000 vehicles.
At the same time on Friday, there were 30,000 vehicles, even before 6 p.m., some 45,000 vehicles already packed the road.
The flow of homecomers passing through Cikampek toll road was predicted to occur on Saturday, Royke went on, with the number of vehicles reaching 112,000.
On Friday, there were heavy trucks and vehicles passing through the Cikampek toll road despite the authorities announced an appeal not to operate during the homecoming and return flow.
The ban on heavy vehicles is valid from June 12 to 14 for homecoming flow and June 22-24 for the return flow.
