TEMPO.CO, Malang - The Minister of Public Works and Housings Basuki Hadimuljono suggested home-comers passing the 1,405-meter the Southern Coastal lane of Java (Pansela) during Eid`s homecoming period stop by tourism destinations along the lane.
There are at least 36 tourism objects including Klayar Beach in Pacitan, Congot Beach, Pandansimo, Parangtritis, Soge, Laguna Glagah, Kwaru, and Bantul. In addition, many hotels and rest areas offer cheaper cost than those in North Coastal Lane (Pantura). Pansela connected the western and eastern ends of Java Island, starting from Pandeglang, Banten, until Banyuwangi District, East Java. Minister Basuki stated the road along the south coastal lane had been well constructed such as the road of Yogyakarta-Ponorogo that was smooth and wide.

However, he admitted several roads needed to be improved such as expanding the road in Kebumen.
The road in the south coastal lane has the width of 5-7 meters. The road ready to be passed was from Banten to Yogyakarta connecting four provinces, Banten-West Java-Central Java-Yogyakarta.
“We’ve checked that route. It’s ready to operate and many interesting tourism destinations are worth to visit,” said Basuki in an event at Brawijaya University, Malang, on Friday, June 1.
Prior to Eid's homecoming season, Basuki added the ministry is striving to quicken the construction on several points at Pansela such as the road along Trenggalek-Tulung Agung-Malang-Banyuwangi.
