TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian e-commerce platform Shopee recorded a 1.5 million transaction within 24 hours at the peak of Big Ramadhan Sale program.
"The 1.5 million transaction in 24 hours has become a new record for an online marketplace in Indonesia," said Shopee CEO Chris Feng in a press release received by Tempo, Friday, June 1.
Chris said the significant increase occurred since early Ramadan until the peak of Big Ramadhan Sale on May 25-31. "We’re so grateful for all the Shoppee users in this year’s Ramadan," he said.

He also added that Shopee recorded 465 visits during Ramadan 2018, that has made the e-commerce platform the number one destination for online shopping in Indonesia. Chris continued that Shopee also recorded more than fivefold transaction increase compared to last year’s Ramadan.
According to Chris, it was all achieved after a series of interesting programs and strategic partnership done by Shopee management. "As well as the free shipping cost policy."
Shopee will hold the final Big Ramadhan Sale program on June 1-6 which will see up to 90 percent discount. "Users can enjoy discount up to 90 percent, 1 Day 1 Billion Golden Rain Shake, cashback to Rp75,000, and Flash Sale discount up to 99 persent," he concluded.
