TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - An information has been circulating that McDonald`s Indonesia gave a free coupon of Rp255,000. It was circulated through a chain message in WhatsApp today, May 24.
McDonald's Indonesia Associate Director of Communication Sutji Lantyka denied the issue. "I need to confirm that the issue about free coupon promotion of Rp255,000 from McDonald's Indonesia is not true or hoax,” said Sutji on Thursday, May 24.
Tempo received the message containing McDonald's Indonesia gave a free coupon for everyone. At the bottom of the message includes the site https://id-kupon.site/mcdonalds. When Tempo opened the page, it was written MCD Indonesia gave the coupon as an appreciation to the consumers for filling out the survey.
On the right side of the site, there was a barcode box that connects with survey links. At the bottom of the site visitors can answer some questions. After finished answering all the questions, an information read, "Congrats! You won (1) a free McDonald's coupon" will appear.
The visitors of the site were also asked to spread the free gift voucher information to 30 friends or to WhatsApp group. The visitors only have to click on the green symbol of Whatsapp.
Sutji asks the public to stay alert to all types of deceptions under the guise of promotions, lottery prizes, and internet sites that act on behalf of McDonald's Indonesia.
Promotion from McD Indonesia, said Sutji, can be checked through the official website www.mcdonalds.co.id.
