37 Automotive Brands to Show in 2018 GIIAS

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The 2018 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show or GIIAS will again take place in ICE, BSD City, Tangerang on August 2-12, 2018. As many as 37 brands of cars and motorcycles will enliven the show.

“For 2018 GIIAS, 27 brands have confirmed, 21 brands are passenger vehicle and six brands are commercial brands,” said 2018 GIIAS organizing committee, Rizan Alamsjah, in a conference press in Jakarta, Tuesday, May 22.

Of 27 brands, Japanese brands still dominate the exhibition namely Daihatsu, Datsun, Mitsubishi Fuso, Hino, Honda, Isuzu, Astra Isuzu, Lexus, Mazda, Mitsubishi Motors, Nissan, Suzuki, Toyota, and UD Trucks.

As for the European brands are Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, MINI, Porsche, Renault, and Volkswagen. Chinese brands to join the show are Dongfeng Sokon (DFSK), FAW, and Wuling. While the United State, India, South Korea and only represent one brand namely Chevrolet, Tata Motors, and Hyundai, respectively.

Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz that previously kicked out as Gaikindo member will still join the exhibition. While South Korean brand KIA has not confirmed yet in this year’s auto show.

Furthermore, motorcycle brands to open booth in 2018 GIIAS are Benelli, BMW Motorrad, Harley Davidson, Honda, Kawasaki, KTM, Nozomi, Piaggio, Suzuki, and Viar.

Projects Director Seven Event Agus Riyadi stated the participant number likely subjects to change considering the chance still opens. Moreover, 2018 GIIAS provide an incentive for those participants that promote world premiere product or concept cars in the auto show.
